Time to shake things up...eventually the AP will be giving me a vote...you know its true. How can you deny the crown prince?
1. USC - A friend of mine was telling me Reggie Bush was hurt, as I drove home from purchasing my $750 Yokohama tires (ugh!). I said, well so what. He says Lindell White isn't a threat to catch coming out the backfield. I was thinking he must be a hater or looking for something because even if USC lined up in a single back two tight end formation, no one can cover Smith and Jarrett on the outside and White is still a power back. Ron Danye and Ricky Williams won the Heisman without being receiving threats at the halfback position. So what. Anyway. USC might lose to Cal or UCLA. They are playing like a really good team instead of a great team. Great teams dominate games and have dynasties. Really good teams slip up and lose games
2 (tie) Virginia Tech - its a tie, but I listed them first for effect. Va Tech needs some respect. If they do that 12-0 but no trip to the national title game bullshit they did to Auburn last year I'm going to start slapping people with my...well...wait till u see it
2 (tie) Texas - beat Oklahoma very easily, but Ohio State's loss might hurt them....oops, did I give away the ending?
4. Georgia...the whole day through would be in a tie for 2nd, but I don't like their offense. Don't question me as to why.
5. Florida State would probably be ready to overtake Georgia in my rankings if they played anyone in the middle of the season. However, they won the who-gets-a-loss-this-year coin flip first game vs Miami since they played it on labor day the past two years. I think they are ending that, which could be bad for the Seminoles unless they really are back. Its one thing to luck out to start the season and another to beat another good team once all the kinks are worked out
6. Alabama - impressive vs Florida, now beat LSU, Tennesse, Auburn and Georgia so you can get screwed
7. Penn State - this is a feel good story. I am cheering for them because Derrick Williams is from the DC area, and it's always funny for me to see people ride the dick after they talked shit about Joe Paterno for the last 4 years. We all know he doesn't really call plays or packages or schemes anymore so who cares if he "retires"? Stop hating. Roar Lions! (is that a cheer they have? I just said whatever). Since I cheer for Michigan, I'm going to sell them out and hope Penn State can go to the Big House and beat them...shit, notre dame and Minnesota did. But that means the Wolverines will be MAD
8. UCLA - almost made me look bad damn near losing to Cal like that. Good to see the damn near only black coach in Division 1-A in the top 10.
9. Miami* - I don't have much to say about Miami
10. Michigan State* - more inconsistent play and I'll never rank u again.
11. Notre Dame* - ok so Charlie Weis got 2 weeks to scheme on a seemingly weakened USC. What you gon' do whatcha gon do?
12. LSU* - I still think they suck, but...I'm not going to be drastic and like, put Boston College up here out the blue like that
13. Florida* - "you still a b****"
14. Texas Tech - fat off of 1-AA and Nebraska wins. and they almost lost to Nebraska.
15. Wisconsin* - not sure why I didn't drop them for Cal or Boston College, but I didn't. Shootout loss to northwestern? Where's the defense at?
OK imagine this - the ILLEST day in the history of college football
December 3rd 2005
Army v Navy
SEC Championship Game - Georgia (11-0) vs Alabama (11-0)
ACC Championship Game - Florida State (11-0) vs Virginia Tech (11-0)
Big XII Championship Game - Nebraska (10-1) vs Texas (11-0)
USC (12-0) vs UCLA (11-0) for the Pac 10 Title
Yeah...we all know this isn't going to happen. Especially given how tough the SEC schedules are (supposed to be) but...its possible. And that could mean 4 major conference undefeated teams...oh wait... I forgot Penn State, which would finish its season 2 weeks prior vs Michigan State.
So lets say we end up with 5 undefeated teams
1. USC 2. Texas 3. Virginia Tech 4. Alabama 5. Penn State
Someone tell me what they'd do about this. Please. I just want to see some good football!
